A Logo Design Competition organized by UTES in 1998 invited members as well as students from the tertiary institutions to participate. The competition was intense as the designs were all unique and outstanding. The winning design was eventually conceptualized by a student from Temasek Polytechnic. The letters, UTES, are slightly slanted signifying a forward-looking and dynamic approach to the industry.
