SINGTEL GROUP AND UTES PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION STATEMENT (2002)

As members of the SingTel Group and the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore, we share a passion for delighting Customers, achieving returns for Shareholders and making SingTel special for Employees.

We recognize the importance of flexibility and responsiveness required of the SingTel Group in the midst of increasing globalisation, competition, restructuring and liberalisation. As such, we want to position SingTel Employees and the knowledge they command as a key source of competitive advantage by:

  • Developing among Management, Union and Employees a shared understanding of and belief in the importance of Employee Relations Management and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Supporting initiatives that engage Employees’ commitment and capability to inspire excellent execution and breakthrough performance.
  • Conducting regular management-union dialogue on matters of mutual concern to further promote a consultative labor-management relationship built on belief, trust, collaboration, information sharing and shared responsibility.
  • Inculcating a more stimulating work culture to facilitate Employees’ involvement and participation in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Fostering a balanced work environment where there is respect for others at work and success is recognized and celebrated.

So as to:

  • Provide excellent service to our Customers and Partners
  • Generate growth and profitability for the SingTel Group
  • Maximize returns on investment for Shareholders.
  • Develop the required human capital through employability programmes to enhance agility, performance and competitiveness of the SingTel Group.
  • Enhance the quality of work life and the economic and social status of Employees.
