 Family Recreation FUND Vouchers 2006 – Apply Now! (Closing Date 9 Feb) |

Good news for members who have missed the first round! It was recently announced that NTUC Club will sponsor another $0.5 million worth of Family Recreation Fund Vouchers, on top of the $1 million worth of vouchers which was already disbursed to members in September 2005.
The Family Recreation Fund set aside by NTUC Club for the next 3 years, is meant to subsidize the lower income members so that they too can enjoy the Club's wholesome and family oriented activities. The fund will be distributed to these members in the form of vouchers. The vouchers can be redeemed for Club's services such as chalet rooms, Wild Wild Wet, Escape Theme Park, ExplorerKID, and shows at Downtown East.
In order for more members to enjoy the Club's facilities, NTUC has revised the eligibility criteria as follows:-
- Total gross household monthly income of $2,500 or below, or;
- Per capita income not exceeding $750 if household income is more than $2,500.
Successful family will receive a one-time $100 worth of recreational vouchers, valid till 31 August 2006, redeemable at Club's facilities i.e. Chalets, Wild Wild Wet, Escape Theme Park, eXplorerKID and Shows at Downtown East, based on the stated terms and conditions stipulated by NTUC Club.
Application is open to all UTES members from now to 9 February 2006. Application forms can be obtained from UTES office from Wendy/Kamilah, during office hours or our union officials. A soft copy of the form is also herewith attached separately.
A ballot will be held by NTUC subsequently to determine the successful applicants. Only successful applicants will be notified by post. Please note that all successful applicants in the first round are NOT eligible to apply this second time round.

Recreational Benefit… Just for UTES members |

Members now can look forward to staying at any of the 3 Costa Sands Resorts (Downtown East, Pasir Ris, Sentosa) and get a recreational claim from UTES! Members will be reimbursed $10 for every night of stay, limited to a maximum of 3 nights claim per eligible member per calendar year.
This new scheme will be effective for the period of 1 January 2006 to 31 December 2006, and subjected to a one-time fund of $12,000 set-up by UTES for the purpose of the Recreational Benefit Scheme.
Application form is as attached separately or can be downloaded from the website http://www.utes.org.sg and the completed form, attached with the Costa Sands Resort Bill, must be submitted to UTES within 30 days of the qualifying event. Terms and conditions apply.

| XQRJ 8th National Chinese Song Writing Competition |
XQRJ is a competition organised by students for students. It brings together students from all over Singapore and allows them to exercise their love for music and showcase their creative talents and to compete in a fair and just environment with minimal commercialisation. XQRJ has an established reputation in tertiary institutions and schools. This competition receives active participation from students in National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), junior colleges, polytechnics, secondary schools as well as National servicemen. It is the first and the only Chinese Song Writing Competition organised by NUS and the largest-scaled annual song writing competition organized by a student body in Singapore .
