Young NTUC Launched- ‘By the Youth, Of the Youth & For the Youth’
|
In order to attract and recruit young people to join the labour movement, NTUC has formed the ‘ Y oung NTUC’ to give the youth in the labour movement the space to organize activities for themselves. It will be a movement by the youth, of the youth and for the youth. The formal launch was held on 30 April 2005 at the newly opened ‘DXO’ with the Prime Minister as Guest-of-Honour. It was a night-out of fun as 800 young union leaders and members partied to their hearts’ content. UTES very own Youth Committee also showed up in full force to support the event.
UTES has also embarked in the same direction, focusing on the younger members with its various activities organized by UTES Youth Committee in the months to come.
So to all our young members, rest assured that NTUC and UTES are paying attention to your needs and aspirations and will be committed to engaging all of you. Get ready for the start of a real exciting journey! |

HAPPENINGS @ UTES |
A Big Thank You to All UTES Volunteers! |
It was indeed a fun-filled day on 14 th May 2005 at Sentosa! The children from Grace Haven Children’s Home and the volunteers from UTES had a great time, mingling and getting to know each other, finding clues and spotting signs in the “Amazing Race”. The children received a goody bag and a token ‘ang pow’, much to their delight. The day ended nicely with an ice-cream treat for everyone! Yummy!
UTES would like to express its appreciation to all volunteers who have helped to make this outing an enjoyable one! We really hope that more of you members out there would join us in our up-coming union activities. Do look out for the ‘Members-get-together’ Night happening sometime soon in July!
