Welfare 

1. Hospitalization Reimbursement

Hospitalization Reimbursement (Self) : All Members

Claim $30.00 for each day of Hospitalization/Day Surgery (ward charges must be incurred).

• For hospitals out of Singapore, hospitalization documents must be endorsed by a local medical practitioner.

Hospitalization Reimbursement (Dependents): Only for members who are working in our represented companies (MB5)

You may also make claims for spouse and child below the age of 18 years at $15.00 per day of Hospitalization/Day Surgery at local hospitals only. (ward charges must be incurred)

• Member’s claims are capped at 30 days per calendar year.
• A minimum of three (3) months UTES membership is required.
• No arrears at time of claim. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before the claim is processed.
• All Claim forms and its supporting documents must be submitted within 90 days from date of discharge.

 

2. Medical Assistance Scheme (MB6)

• A one-time payout per year ranging from $200 to $700 based on tenure if hospitalised due to chronic illness listed under UTES List of Chronic Illness. Subject to review of principle diagnosis on discharge summary. Not applicable for consultations on pre-existing illnesses.
• Member’s claims are capped at 30 days per calendar year.
• A minimum of six (6) months UTES membership is required.
• No arrears at time of claim. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before the claim is processed.
• All Claim forms and its supporting documents must be submitted within 90 days from date of discharge.

3. Get Well Hamper / Bundle of Joy Hamper

 

Get Well Hamper

A complimentary hamper will be sent to members who are hospitalised/ day surgery (applicable for local admission/ day surgery only).

 

Bundle of Joy Hamper

A complimentary bundle-of-joy hamper will be sent to members if they have delivered a new born baby (applicable for local admission only).

• A minimum of three (3) months UTES membership is required.

• No arrears at time of claim. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before the claim is processed.

• Notify union for Hamper requests at 6337 1122 or email to membership@utes.org.sg. Please indicate which hamper is to be sent to member.
  
  

Delivery to Hospital: Provide details of hospitalization (Name of hospital, block, ward and contact number.)

Delivery to Home (Post hospitalization or day surgery): Provide details of delivery address, contact number with a copy of Discharge Summary. In the absence of Discharge Summary, any other suitable/ relevant document to be submitted.

4. Benevolent Grant (MB1-MB3)

A one-time payout of $100 on the demise of immediate family member(s) as follows:

• Spouse;
• Mother/ Step-Mother (only 1 claim for either);
• Father/ Step-Father (only 1 claim for either);
• Children.

 

• A minimum of three (3) months UTES membership is required.
• No arrears at time of claim. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before the claim is processed.
• Claim must be submitted with supporting document(s) within one (1) year from date of demise.

 5. Recreational Activities

Wide variety of leisure, sports & community outreach programs designed to provide members & their families with a fun time.

Heavily subsidized Prices & Perks for members who join in the activities.

6. Chalet Booking

Booking of UTES chalet unit at D’Resort@Downtown East at exclusive monthly promotional booking rates. BBQ pit inclusive in package.

• All UTES members may apply.
• No arrears at time of booking. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before booking is confirmed.

7. OCC / ACC Social Passes & OCC Golf Passes

Free OCC /ACC Social passes available to members Passes can be used for Swimming Pool and Gym facilities *subject to availability  .

OCC Golf passes available to members at $5.00 only per pass. *subject to availability

Loyalty

8. Retirement Gift

A one-time payout of a token sum of $150.00 paid out to member when they reach the legislative retirement age of 63.

• A minimum of two (2) years membership with UTES is required.
• No arrears at time of claim. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before payout is made.

Note:

Members who turned 62 from January to June 2022 would have received their Retirement Award payout in 2022.

Members who turn 62 from 1st July 2022 to 31 December 2022 will be eligible for their payout as at their legislative retirement age of 63. They will receive their payout in 2023. 

9. U65+ Loyalty Rebates

Members who are 65 and above with membership tenures above 10 years will qualify for this program.

In the year they turn 65, eligible members will receive a prorated amount based on their birthday month. Pay-out will be in the month of January of the following year. The following year, member will receive full rebate amount based on age and membership tenure.

30 years and above	$54.00

• Membership is active during disbursement of rebates.

10. Annual Souvenir

Members receive a token of appreciation every year end. Distribution of souvenirs will be held at our HQ office.

• Membership tenure to be determined by Appointed Committee.
• No arrears at time of distribution. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before collection of token of appreciation.

Education

11.Bursary Awards

An annual application which provides financial assistance to members with school going children (Kindergarten to University Levels in MOE Approved Institutions)

• A minimum of three (3) months paid UTES membership.
• No arrears at time of application. If in arrears, member must clear arrears before prior to application processing.

 

Others

12. Member Get Member Recruiter’s Incentive

Receive $30.00 (cash) recruiter’s incentive for every new member you recruit

• Recruiter must be a UTES member with a minimum of three (3) months membership tenure
• Incentive will be paid out via GIRO after new recruit completes 6 months of successful & arrears free membership with the union. (Terms & Conditions apply)

 

13. UTES-AUPE Credit Cooperative (ACC)Thrift Loan Assist

Members may utilise the UTES-ACC Loan Assist to take up a loan with AUPE Credit Cooperative for up to $3,000.

UTES Members also enjoy exclusive sign-up promotions from AUPE Credit Cooperative.

 

Members need to apply for ACC membership fulfilling the following; to enjoy the exclusive Thrift Loan Assist and special promotions from ACC

(a) Pay a one-time Entrance Fee of $5. (Non Refundable)

(b) Pay a one-time Shares Capital for $25.

This is fixated at 25 shares valued at $1 per share.

(c) A compulsory monthly Subscription Deposit of $10 (dividend payable)

(d) A monthly Savings Deposit of a minimum of $10. (Interest payable)

Member applying for loan at ACC must have at least six (6) months paid membership with UTES with no arrears to be eligible for the UTES- ACC Thrift Loan Assist.

Loan Eligibility & Approval will be strictly subjected to AUPE Credit Cooperative’s terms & conditions.

AUPE Credit Cooperative membership and its benefits will be auto-terminated if members terminate their union membership.

If UTES members are transferred out to another Union, they will be able to retain ACC membership, however will not be eligible for exclusive promotions that ACC provides to UTES members.
